I think I have ADD. That would explain why I never write on here.
I start something and never finish it. I'm so bad.
This is the second blog I have had and this one is slowly dying a lonely death, just like my other one did.
UGH
So I will try my best to keep up with this, at least on some pathetic half trying level.

So anyways, shit has gone down in the last few months since the whole breakup happened.
I've been talking to the ex quite a bit.
He kept calling and would not give up, so I started talking to him again.

Apparently shit was not as it seemed with him.
He took care of that job here. So that is all cleared up.
He took care of his shit back home. So that is all cleared up.
And most shocking of all....he seems to have actually grown up and gotten
his shit together.
I was amazed to say the least. I have had some jaw dropping moments talking to him.
He actually is paying his bills, making money, and living on his own.
GASP!

Everything that I asked him to do, he has done.
He is taking care of the child support.
That was a big issue with me.
I speak to his ex, so I know if he is feeding a bowl of crap.
He really and truly is taking care of it.
We had a long conversation about it, and I confronted him about everything that I
knew about all of it.
He said that he went to court and realized that he has to grow up and take care of it, and no matter how much he disputes the amount, that he will just have to suck it up and pay it.
I had to pick my jaw up on that one.

He even stunned me with the whole living on his own thing.
Granted he has a roommate, but it's another guy.
And as we all know, two guys living on their own is like leaving two toddlers alone together.
They share an apartment, and they also are business partners.
OMG, he even has his own bank account!
That was a stunner. We are talking about a guy who lived off of cash, and couldn't write a check to save his life.
He bought a truck with his own money and even has insurance on it.
And he does his own laundry.

I'm telling you, this is not the guy that I lived with the past two years.
I asked him what brought on this sudden bout of grown up-ness.
He said it was me. Losing me was the reality check he needed to grow up, man up, and get a clue.
Who knew I was so awesome that I could inspire that??

And he wants to get back together.
He even said we should go to counseling to work out our issues.
That was another jaw dropper.
I was shocked that he even suggested that.
This is a guy who is so against anything like that, and to suggest that out of the blue was an enormous step for him.
I was blown away.
Combine that with the fact that he has gotten his shit together finally...
That's all that I ever really wanted from him.
Just get your shit together.
And he has...

So where does that leave me?
After many long sleepless nights, and long talks with him and my BFF, and much soul searching...
I'm gonna go home.
We are going to give it another try.
I know, I know.
He was a total douche.
But the kicker is I still love him.
And combine that with the fact that he has totally grown up, I think that it is worth it to try again.
I'm going to move home the first of June.
We are going to move back in together, and see how it goes.
If it doesn't work, at least I won't be stuck in a state where I don't know anyone, and don't have my friends and family there.
That has probably been the hardest thing for me since he left.
I don't know anyone here in Tampa. And I hate that.
And since I work from home, it's not like I have a chance to meet someone from work.

So yeah...that's where it all is at now..
And maybe I'm making a mistake..
But maybe I'm not..

All I know is that I miss him...

Show me luvs!!

So....yeah....

So I know I haven't posted.
It has been madness, to say the least.

Asshat has moved out and moved back to Texas!
Yay me!

He caused quite a bit of drama with his moving away.
Turns out he took almost $10,000 of a customers money.
Whoopsie...
He claimed the day he moved out that he was going to do the customers job and then give me some bill money.
Apparently he was blowing smoke up my ass.

That afternoon he hopped a Greyhound back to Texas.
Then called me two days later and lied and said he was in West Virginia.
Apparently he was lying so I would not tell his customer where he was.
You see, taking the customers money is a felony.
And he knows it.
But he fucked up.
He called my former best friend in Texas to pick him up from the bus station.
He didn't think that she would call me. Or that I would call her.
We had this falling out thing, but we're girls. We got over it. Just never told him.
So anyways she confirmed he was in Dallas, so I confronted him.
He was shocked to say the least.
And now he is claiming he is going to file bankruptcy, blah blah blah.
It's just loads of B.S. and drama that, thankfully, is now 1200 miles away from me.

So now all is well here.
Yay!

I move in less than two weeks into the most adorable little house here in the
neighborhood.
And......
I had a date last night.
With a guy who..
has a job
has a car
has a life

So it can only go up from here on out baby.....

Show me luvs!!Tis the season to be warm....

So here in Tampa it is hot.
Like a mo-fo.
What the hell?
Where is my Winterwonderland???

So Tampa is not so bad.
The cost of living is much better here than in Dallas.
I can at least afford to eat here.
Back in Dallas I had to choose electric or food.
Rock meet hard place.

But jeez, I'm running my AC!
In December!
Come on, can it not cool off just 10 more degrees??
So I did something....

I really hate my BF.
And it's not just a "I'm mad at him, so I don't like him right now"
kind of thing.
I really actually hate him.

It takes everything I have in me to be nice to him.
I can't stand him being here, let alone sleeping in my bed.
I hate the fact that he is driving my truck, sitting at my computer,
and eating my food.
BUT HE WON'T LEAVE!!

Friday we had yet another fight over money.
I told him to get out.
He is still here....

I've told him to get out several times, but he never leaves!
Do I need to put it in writing for God's sake?!?

He has not always been the most consistent person when it comes to working.
He ran his own construction company back in Texas and basically drove it into the ground.
And when money has been tight he has always refused to get a real job.
He always says he will work it out and find something.
I could never understand why he wouldn't just take a job somewhere.
But he would eventually earn money to pay the bills.
Well his construction business that he started here in
Tampa has finally bitten the dust.
He has been doing odd jobs here and there for money, but has basically just been living off of me and my paycheck now.

We have gone round and round about him working and now he tells me he is "formulating a plan" to get a new job as a bus boy.
WTF??
How do you formulate a plan to get a job as a bus boy??
I'm pretty much done with him at this point.
He won't work, won't help around the house, won't do anything.
He has now taken to staying up all night on the computer and sleeping all day.

And living off my dime.

And he is not paying any of his bills.
He has let all of his bills go, including his child support, which infuriates me.
He has told me repeatedly during the time we have been together that he has been paying his child support.
He swore to me just a few weeks ago that it was paid up.
I found out that he has not been paying it at all!
He is $80,000 behind!!!!
AND he has not filed a tax return in 10 years!!
And he has also lied to his ex and his kids about still being in Texas.

And now he has a court date in Texas next month over the child support.
They are probably going to put him in jail for it.
And he is now basically hiding out here in Tampa so he won't have to take responsibility for any of it.

Soooo....
I emailed his ex and gave her all of his info and our address.
She was stunned.
And grateful.
Now the courts know where to find him, and next month he
will most likely go to jail for quite a while.

And he has no idea I did this. I am a bad blogger.
I have not posted anything lately!
But really, who wants to read the same thing
over and over about BF and his laziness??

So thanks to FB, who has the most awesome
blog, I'm going to try and write more often.

So updates...
Well, BF has no job, no money and is still lazy.
No new news there..sarcasm intended...
I, however, am doing better.
YAY!

Bills are now paid up and the pantry is full baby!
Here is how I did it:
Coupons and un-enrolling from my stock options.

The first biggie is the stock options.
My company's stock tanked. So they offered us
an un-enrollment. We could take what we had contributed
for the January buy up and pocket it, or we could go ahead
and do the January buy up.
I chose to take my money back.
It just made sense. I had almost $2,000.00 banked
for the stock buy up and it would have been a loss to buy it and
then try to sell it.
Traditionally most of the employees buy the stock in January and July
at a discount and then we turn around and sell it right away.
It's always been profitable for me. One year I doubled my
investment. This year it was not gonna happen.
I would have been lucky to get back what I put in. So
I took the opt out.

I was able to pay all of our bills and do Christmas for the kiddos and
my mom.
It feels great. I don't have to worry that any day now the electric
will be shut off, which is not good since I telecommute.
I don't think work would like that too much.

I didn't tell BF about any of it though.
He needs to get off his lazy ass and do something.
I told him electric was due this week or they were turning it off.
What did he do? Well, currently he is playing a video game.
It's so over. I'm just trying to figure out how to get him
to move out peacefully now...But that's a whole 'nother story!
But bills are paid, got some money in my pocket, and bills for
next month will be covered by my check, and I will now have
extra in each check since I'm now ahead. YAY!!

As for the groceries...
I have discovered this concept called couponing.
Yeah yeah, duh.
But I have seriously started couponing now.
And it's totally awesome.
I had been shopping at Aldi since it was so cheap, but
now I'm back to the regular stores with familiar, well
known brands that we all know and love!
Now don't get me wrong, Aldi is great, but if I can get the
same name brand item for less, I'm gonna go for it.

In the past month I have managed to stock my whole pantry.
We are actually out of room in the cabinets.
The freezer is full too!
I have been watching the sales, and buying only what's on sale
that I have a coupon for. I don't buy it if I don't have
a coupon, unless it's meat, milk, things like that, that rarely
have a coupon. Although I have been shopping at one
store that has in-store coupons for awesome meat deals.
I've also been hitting the CVS ECB's hard. Thanks to those,
I have tons of shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant,
mouthwash, laundry detergent, and cleaner to last for months.
And it cost nothing thanks to the ECB's!
And to think, just two months ago I was scrounging
change just to buy shampoo and deodorant.

Things are starting to turn around finally.
FINALLY!!
I will be able to feed us and pay our bills and
not struggle so hard.

Now, I just need to kick out the lazy bastard and
I will save even more money!

Show me luvs!!

Frugal groceries...

So I'm trying so hard to save money.
I found this on Frugal Mom:

Save Money On Your Grocery Bill

We've all heard about certain ways to cut your
grocery bill like avoiding the grocery store when you're hungry, using
coupons on double coupons day, and buying only the items on your list. These are all good tips and we should keep using them. However, I've found a few pointers that might help you save even more on your grocery bill.

The first thing you need to do after you've made your
grocery list is to try to figure the total cost of
your grocery bill. Make sure you've got everything on the list that you'll need because after you've made an educated guess you're going to go to your purse (or wallet), take out the cash and leave the rest behind. Believe me, this will definitely cut back on the unnecessary extras because you won't have the credit cards to fall back on. And if you're like me, you'd rather be hung upside down by your toe nails than be found short at the check out.

This is a great article about how to shop frugaly.

I have been shopping Aldi lately.
I got the best deals yesterday!
Bread was a quarter a loaf!

Is it sad that I get excited over bread???

Show me luvs!!

But you told me you would...

So the BF has not gotten any work.
WTF?!?
He tells me he is putting out his info and applying for things but not
getting any bites.
Whatever..
I applied at ONE place and got a call back immediately.
I set up the interview for a part time job, and knew I had it snagged.
BF told me not to go, he would find a job.

So....
I didn't go, and he still has no job.
SHIT!

I'm kicking myself for listening to him.
But at the same time I'm glad I did not go.
I really don't want to work full time 40 plus hours and
then go to another job!
Plus I know if I took that second job I would be
vicious and throw it in his face that I work two jobs
to his none.
I think he knows I would do that too...

So now, here we sit, trying to get in the last tv watching we
can before they shut off the cable some time this week.

Ugh, I hate what we have come down to..

On the plus side, all of this money stress finally led to
a big blow up last week.
I usually keep my opinion of him to myself.
Not last week. I called him out on everything.
I told him exactly what I thought of him, how I felt, and
just what I expected from him.

Did it change anything?
Hell no!
But I feel better finally telling him what a lazy piece of
shit I really think he is.
He said fine, he would leave.
I said not a problem! I have to do it.
It's weird, I know, but it's like part of me.

I guess that's why they say smoking is addictive.

I also go for that smoke when I get stressed.
I noticed that this past week.

With BF not bringing in any money, and bills piling up I
have been way stressed.
And I noticed the more stressed I got, the more I reached for a smoke.
But there were none!
So I reached for a pork chop, or a side of beef, for the
phone to ring for a remodeling job.

But he is not a man.
He does not own up to the fact that there is no money left,
and I can't pay all of our bills on my salary.
His solution is to pawn everything he owns rather than go find a
job!
WTF?!?!?!
I WILL NOT PAWN MY SHIT MOTHERFUCKER.
So now, he has nothing left to pawn, and we can't pay bills.

Why, you ask, won't he get a job?
Because he is lazy!
He wants to sit on his ass and run his business and not have to
lift a finger, just like he did back home.
But when he did that back home, his business crashed and burned.
TWO OF THEM!

So now I am tired of reminding him that there will be no money for
anything other than rent this payday.
I am tired of reminding him that if we would like to eat next week,
have phones, or electricity or cable, that he needs
to do something about it.
I'm tired of asking him to earn money to pay bills.
I'm tired of saying "no honey, don't pawn your things."

Today he pawned his precious gun.
And I didn't bat an eye over it.
So far, he has pawned every gift I have given him.
So far, he has not done anything to pay the bills.
And I won't bat an eye over it.

Because when the electricity gets turned off and we are out of food,
I will take me and mine and go, and not look back.

Because a man would not allow that to happen.....
Show me luvs!!<img amazed by the Duggar family every time I watch this show.

If you have never heard of them, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have
17 kids.
And one on the way!
AND they are totally debt free.<br That fact alone makes me worship them! LOL

The Duggar's are the penultimate in frugality.
They buy only used vehicles, used clothing, used shoes.
They use a wood stove for heating with wood taken from their property.
They buy in bulk or shop at Aldi.
They even make their own laundry soap!

And their children are so well behaved!

But many people view them as an oddity.

Why is it that people who live a non-conventional life like this are considered
odd or different?
If this were 1808 instead of 2008 most families now would be looked on as
odd and the Duggars would be the norm.
It speaks volumes that in today's society this kind of family is not what we
look up to, only look at.
Society has become more concerned about what others think and how we
should appear to be, and not how we actually should live.
We have been led to believe that we need to have it all, that we deserve to have it all, and even if we can't afford it, we should still have it.
I admit I am that way also.

But this family has shunned societies directives and did it their way.
And it works!
With 17 kids no less!

I think we could all take a lesson from this family about how to live a better,
more fulfilling life.

Because when it comes down to it, they are the ones who truly have it all....
Show me luvs!!

I'm falling...

Ah, the weather is changing.
Cooler days, cooler nights, cooler armpits.

Back in Dallas it was accepted that your air conditioning would run until at least November.
I remember last year it was off for January and part of February. That was it.
That was normal. You expected the warmth.
You longed for days when there was even just the mildest hint of a breeze.
And when the weather finally changed and coolness moved in there was a
collective sigh heard 'round the neighborhood.

Here in Tampa that is not the case.
The weather here is blessedly different.
I do not feel like I am living in the middle of a furnace.
Even the summers are bearable here.

With the exception of going to Los Angeles as a child, I have never experienced
a summer where 105 degrees in the shade was not commonplace and there
was never actually a fall season.
I'm used to wearing cotton the majority of the year, and only busting out the
synthetic fabrics for a brief period in December or January if I'm lucky.

Tampa, however, is a different story. While it is a Tropical state, there
apparently is cooler weather here!
It is taking some getting used to though.
BF finally sat me down this weekend and gently explained to me that, yes, we
can actually have the windows open now, and no it won't be hotter than 80 degrees
in the house with them open.
WHAT??
Windows open in October AND coolness inside?
I was skeptical at first, but then I finally tried it.
Amazingly enough it is nice and cool inside in October!

Apparently I've moved to Heaven!

Now, let's bust out those synthetics...
Show me luvs!!Que pasa?

So the boys who live above us are a bit noisy.
I think they have elephants living with them.
Either that or all of them have wooden legs.
Not sure which.

Ok, to clarify they are not boys they are young men, but we call them boys.
There are at least three of them living above us.
And they are from South of the Border.
Holy frijoles batman.

Now don't get me wrong, they are nice, but loud!
And so is their music.
The boys seem to have no idea that 7:30 in the morning is not an appropriate
time to begin playing their music loudly on the weekends.
They play it all the time actually.
It's playing right now as a matter of fact.
They must have gotten off of work early today.

And it's not just the music.
There is a consistent cacophony (biiig word lol) of crashes that come from above.
I think they throw tires or large boulders at each other.
That would have to explain all the noise, because just walking
around like a normal human being would not make all of that noise!

One of the boys also has a new girlfriend.
She has a child who looks to be around four.
And I swear to you he wears wooden shoes.
He must, because that could only explain the constant clomping noise that
comes from above when he's running around.
So far I've only spied sandals on those little feet, but I know there
is a pair of wooden shoes stashed in mom's purse.
There has to be...

On a similar note...
The boys will be hosting a wedding reception next weekend.
I can only imagine the noise levels with 70 people
running around above me..
I know that I will have to just grin and bear it.
It is a special occasion after all.

But I wonder if I could score some Tamales from them....
Show me luvs!!$20.00 put half a tank in the truck.
Needless to say, we were excited by that.

It's sad that we get excited over gas that is $2.99 a gallon.
I remember fueling up for our drive from Texas to Florida and thinking
that $3.65 was cheap.

I remember when my youngest was a baby.
On payday I would go to the gas station and for $10.00 I could
get a full tank, a pack of cigarettes, and a scratch off.
Those days are long gone.

Back then I could buy a ton of groceries from Walmart for very little and
still be able to have money for bills and daycare and extras.
Now, making more than three times as much, I can barely afford bills let alone
anything else.
I can't imagine having to pay for daycare either!
The world today has gotten way more expensive and it's sad to realise that
only fourteen years ago I was prospering on $18,000 a year salary, but today
I can't afford anything.
What is happening???

On a brighter note, I went to pay my electric bill today in full!
Take that TECO!
It was late in the afternoon and I was looking pretty shabby.
An older man was sitting outside the pay center.
As I was leaving he yelled after me "looking good, looking good".
I wasn't looking good, and the man was obviously drunk.
But...

Thanks old sitting here working when I heard a helicopter outside.
I figured it was from the base since we live RIGHT next to it.
Then I heard more helicopters. I looked out the window and there had to be at least 4 above the house!
Ooook. Maybe they are doing drills.
And then I get a text from my kid.
Now he never calls me or sends me a text while he is in school. It's a no-no.
So I figure he's sick or in an assembly and just so bored he has nothing better to do than text me.
Wrong!
His text says there is a bomb in the building.
HUH???

Apparently some girls left a note in a bathroom saying a bomb would go off at a certain time, etc etc.
Hence the helicopters.
I guess they needed a day off from school...

When I was in school pulling the fire alarm was the way to go.
And the only punishment was a one day suspension.
These girls were arrested.
Are there no more fire alarms to pull in school anymore???

School now is so different from when I was growing up.
I graduated in 1990. Blah, almost 20 years ago.
It has changed so much. They are run in an almost dictator-like fashion now.
When I was in school it was relaxed and easy going.
There were lots of rules, and sometimes you broke them.
You got punished and went on with life.
Now it seems that there are so many rules that you can't go a day without
breaking at least one.
And the punishments are extreme.

Now I know a bomb threat is nothing to take lightly, but these girls were arrested!
On one hand, as a parent of a child that had to go through the evacuation and the scare, it makes me glad to see that the school took the incident seriously.
But on the other hand I can't help but wonder..

Is going to jail a fit punishment?
Show me luvs!!

I'm a grocery whore

They have just opened an Aldi's here.
How awesome is this store???
Ok, so it's small, crowded, and carries hardly any name brands, but jeez it's cheap!
I am in heaven. A new store (I'm a shopping whore), and cheap stuff!
I am determined to be frugal while we are going thru the "BF=no money" stage.
This store helps me do that!
I am anal about having a full cupboard. When we moved here I gave BF's mom what little I had left in my cupboard. We didn't want to haul groceries with us 1200 miles, and it helped her stock up. So of course when we got here I had hardly anything for my shelves.
Now they are full!

Ok, I do have to give kudos to my mom for part of that. She seems to be under the impression that there are no canned goods available here in Florida. Or cereal, or chex mix.
(Ma, I've got 5 bags of chex mix. Stop already!)

So after a $26.00 trip this weekend, my shelves are full!
I open the doors to the cupboards and hear angels sing.
Ok not really, but it is nice to see them full.
And the freezer too.

The closest thing to Aldi's in Texas is Save-a-Lot, and those were yucky.
So this kind of store is new to me!
I've seen them on the Food Network before and have always wanted to go to one.
And now I have!

So far I haven't bought anything there that I did not like.
I've read on forums where people have complained about their bread, meat and produce quality, but since this place is new there is a ton of turnover on the food.
And they keep adding new products every time I go in.

It's so hard to be frugal when a neat-o (yeah, I know) place like this has opened!
Oh well, at least I'm spending it on food!
Show me luvs!!

Ok, so..yeah

So I telecommute for a company full time. I've been there 12 years this month.
Longevity baby!
I love it.
Without telecommuting, the move to Tampa would not have been possible.
And it also provides a nice salary. But..
It only goes so far.
Back in Texas, BF and I technically did not live together, but he had not slept at his place for months.
I paid my own bills with my salary and the bit that I got from a side business I had.
I wasn't rich but I could buy what I wanted, within reason of course.
The BF gave me money if I bought groceries, bought take out, and generally paid most of his bills (with my help sometimes).
Since we moved here to Tampa and are officially living together I have come to realize that BF doesn't quite pull his weight money-wise now.
Now, I understand that he has to re-establish a business here all over again, but jeez we are broke!
Rent is less here, electric is less, we eliminated his car and insurance on it.
So for the love of GOD why are we broke??
I know part of it is the fact that there is no semi steady income coming in from him.
Right now it is hit or miss.
Well, miss more than hit actually.

But what pisses me off is the fact that he is so blase about it.
I always paid my bills on time, if not early.
Now all of our bills are late.
WAY late.
The electric bill was due yesterday. Final red notice.
He says oh well, they will get it when they get it.
Um, hello, I work from home.
No electricity=no work
No work=fired!
And yet he still is carefree.
As I type this he is playing BF2.
Not a care in the world.
This is what he generally does every day. 14 and 17.

The oldest stayed in Texas for his senior year. :(
I'm sad, but it was his choice to make.

I moved here with my BF.
He had lived in Florida before and had wanted to move back, and I was looking for a change.
So we packed everything up and moved here with the youngest kid, one dog and three cats.

So, here we are.
Sunny Florida.
It feels like an alien planet compared to Dallas.
Sometimes when I'm driving around it startles me to realize I'm not in Texas anymore, even though it's been almost four months now.

I was lucky enough to bring my job with me since I telecommute.
BF had his own construction business back home and is reestablishing one here.

So now I'm carving out a niche in a new place, starting a new life.

We shall see what happens....
Show me luvs!!

Yep, my first entry

So I'm gonna start this blog and try and stick with it.
Show me luvs!!
